    Help with prop choice

    Hi,

Im running a rpx-x with worx grate, 8650rpm ecu, r&d filter, titan valve retainers and a Solas 15/22 prop. Running about 72mph with this setup.

Im just about to order a new prop since my current one isnt really performing as I want, both in acceleration and top speed.

Whats Your suggestions on prop choice? I was thinking Solas 15/20 but just noticed that they dont produce that one any more.

Also, instead of making a new thread: Solas or Skat-trak, and why?

    Would really appreciate some help.

    / R

8250rpm, stock grate tho. Still waiting for it.

edit: im using the ski for CC-racing so hole-shot/acceleration is the most important thing for me

Grate change will help alot, but have you also thought about getting a reduction nozzle? Lower you RPMs a bit, but give you greater pressure. Maybe an 83mm.

    Re: Help with prop choice

You already have the right prop. You just need it tweaked.

How come I'm not even close to 8650 with that prop?
When discussing with some really good ski-builders they both say 15/20 as my choice. They also say Solas but not why

For absolutely best acc and hole-shot, what prop should i go for?

You need to get the rpms up. The shorter prop pitch (you're too tall now) will help with acceleration and help with top end. If you want the best acceleration go with a 3-blade. Call Glen at Skat Trak. You would need around a 15/18 with your setup. Is the stock PX reduction nozzle 83mm like the P. I would keep the nozzle at 82-83 mm and go with a Skat 3-blade. Make sure it is the lightweight 3-blade.

This is way to many options for me Any more suggestions before I call skat?

Does hot products have the lightweight one?

edit: cant change the nozzle since that would put me in the OPEN class :/

+1... You have the right inpeller already... Just pitch it down to a 15/20 and save the money on a new impeller.. Are you running a intake? That might be were ur rpms are hiding.. If you don't have one, put a 4" intake in... If you have a 3" intake switch it out for a 4" intake..

I also agree with the other guys.. U need to get ur rpms up.. Easy way to do that is, more boost!!!
