    sea doo oil question

Im sure this has got a lot of play but my 2000 gs owners manual says only API TC oil with low ash.And to stay away from TC-W3 outboard motor oil that has no ash in it,is this just BS can I use any 2 stroke oil or does it have to be what they recommend. Thanks ahead of time
