    Checking AFR on '08 plus

How is everyone checking their AFR on the '08 and newer boats?

    I need to check mine.

I know awhile back someone tapped their manifold but I need to have it done by a shop or someone. I feel I can be accurate enough to do it.

I sent my manifold to Erik at speedfreeks to get drilled and tapped. I didn't want to do it myself because of how close you have to drill to the water jacket on my manifold. He did an fantastic job! All that's left is putting the sensor in and running the wires for the dynotune LC1 A/F gauge.

With that extender on a 08 and newer setup you will also need to install the torque plate for spacing purposes...If not then the mid-pipe and coupler will hit the Scer..

Don't get me started on this one...

    I'll start with that Extender...
    a) The sensor hits the exhaust manifold bell, so you have to cut the bell off the exhaust manifold if you want to put your O2 sensor there... The extender is very handy, don't get me wrong, but I think the O2 bung as a completely untested after thought.

    b) Even then, the 02 sensor bung is too tall. The sensor barely extends into the exhaust flow at all, I could never get an accurate reading using that thing until I cut the bell off the exhaust manifold, and cut the bung down about a 1/2" and re-threaded it.

Regarding tapping and threading the exhaust manifold itself for an O2 sensor... Just my personal opinion, but mounting it in the manifold is way too far up in the exhaust system. The air/gas mixture is still burning as it comes out of the exhaust ports, which will give you a falsely lean reading! Based on the installation instructions on every O2 sensor & meter I've ever owned, and everything I've read. Every one says the same thing. The O2 sensor should be mounted 12"-24" downstream of the exhaust outlet.

Not that I have a better solution mind you not alot of options on these SeaDoo's for proper O2 sensor placement.

Well I have a RXP. According to Erics site the mod if for 255/x manifolds.

Does anyone know if the 08RXP and RXPX are the same or not?

Or if the 08 RXP Manifold is doable?
