I've noticed on some peoples signatures that they're wearing helmets. I'm new to PWC and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that water at 70mph is going to hurt like a bitch, but is a helmet overkill?
Obviously staying safe is a top priority. I don't know if these guys wearing helmets are running 300 horsepower skis doing 90mph, etc...

most of the guys wearing helmets are the guys running 90. other use them for racing where they are mandatory. I wear a helmet only in the winter when its 40 degrees out to keep my ears warm...

depends what your doing, racing jumping or high speed runs, sure put one on. Cruising the beaches, leave it at home.

If your riding on the edge then id wear one but youll also want something Like a leatte neck brace in case of a high speed fall, the helmet can catch the water and hurt you neck... So you have to decide when you should wear one. I bought one and ill be using it when its really ruff and or raining out so i can wear the gogs to see better or when im wave jumping. I wont be wearing it at high speed till i buy a leatte brace.
