    GTX limited performance upgrades

I'm a 40 year old jet ski newby. I bought a nice 07 GTX limited. I'm going to order the OPAS blockoffs but am interested in what I can do to pick up a few mph on top speed. What do you guys recommend without breaking the bank?

If that's what it takes, I'll just buy a new ski next year...

Speed is quite the expensive hobby my friend unfurtunately buying another ski will not quench that appetite. On average all top brand stock skis run no more than 70 mph and thats on a good day. Want more than that then figure on average your going to spend close to if not more than a grand for every mile an hour more you want. Not trying to discourage you here but rather pointing out some facts. You can save a couple of duckies here and there if you can find the parts you need in the classifieds. Its a long and trying journey my friend. Go fast parts for ski are quite expensive. IMO the best thing to do is to set a goal as to where you would like the ski to be running at and gather up some prices on the parts you need, then and only then will you see the big picture. All the help you need will be provided here in the forum and there my friend is where you will find the savings.

get yourself a 4 inch intake
    a aftermarket grate a

and a repitch of the stock prop

    and a wedge.

those mods will be about 500 and give you 2-3, maybe 4mph if your lucky.

IMO dont waste your cash on the block offs yet

Thanks for the advice, fellas. My buddy bought a new Yamaha SHO. He is MAYBE 1mph faster on the top end but that thing immediately jumps up on plane and he puts about 40-50' on me, EVERY TIME! My goal is to pick up 2-3mph so I can catch-pass him, lol. I'm looking at the intake grate and wedge for starters. I'm taking the OPAS off because it feels loose when NOT WOT...
