    msx140 won't idle

Hello, I have been working on a msx140. I checked the trouble codes; by the way, fantastic instructions! It worked the first time. My problem is I cannot clear the codes using the jumper or tps procedure. As the emm continues to loop through the codes, using the jumper method, I unplugged the jumper (at tps), the light stays on solid, I wait several seconds, plug the jumper back in and the light doesn't go out. Just wondering where Im going wrong.....thanks!

    Welcome

Clearing EMM Service Codes using jumper or TPS cycling

The reset process is a specific sequence of steps.
Are you doing them exactly as listed?

How many seconds are you waiting after disconnecting the jumper in the first step?

What model year is your MSX 140 - 2003 or 2004?
Last two digits of the HIN number plate is the model year.

Sorry-its 2003 the last 2 digits are 03. I have waited 5 seconds to two minutes. I am following the process exactly(I think). One question I have is: When the codes display, they loop continuously. Could I be hanging it up by pulling the jumper during the loop? Should I pull the jumper right after the initial long lamp pulse at the beginning?

I don't think it makes a difference, but I guess I usually do wait until the sequence is finished, as I am watching to confirm I recorded the codes correctly.

Try using the TPS method instead of the wire jumper method.

I tried jumper and tps method. When I uplug the jumper or go to idle position(TPS), the light stays on solid, when I connect the jumper or turn the tps to throttle stop position, nothing happens with the light. It stays on solid. I know the reverse should be happening, so I am going in with my meter and looking for wiring problems in the tps circuit which, by the way, could be my idling problem! Does anyone out there have a readable diagram for this pwc?

    Thanks!
