    New mods, no new speed

Ok so far this summer i did a 14/17 and that didn't get me anything but 63.2mph which was what i was running before if not slower. So i put 1-2 milimeters on the trailing edge and got 65.0mph @ 7450rpms. I think mostly due to a bad wear ring i got a best of 63.9mph a few weeks ago. Last night i put in an RXP ecu and 4 bar fuel pressure reg. Today i ran 65.0mph @ 7600+ rpms in 10 degree cooler air and water temp. Acceleration seemed slightly better. Since my rpms are up i would think i ained some power somewhere. I'm wondering if i should try to put another 1-2mm on the trailing edge of the prop since i should gain some speed and my cast pistons probably don't like seeing higher rpms. I need to make some "pro series" block offs and get this friggin porposing straight. Supermaning the way it's porposing is suicidal. On another note my friend ran 67.2mph on his bone stock 06 RXT with 1/2 tank of fuel. So now between him and Brian (Rustysearustydoo) i have 2 friends with 06 stockers running 67+mph.

You should be turning 8100-8150 with that RXP ECU.
I don`t think your prop`d right to start with.
I`m running the skat swirl 3 blade 16\21 which is basically a stock replacement for my 04 GTX SC with the stock ecu. Since I can turn 8100 R`s `im seeing 67.8-69.1 gps mph...
somethings not right with your set-up...PR...

PR don't forget i'm running the RXT driveshaft, wear ring, and rxt/rxp sized solas 14/17. I'm not so sure i want to run 8100 either. I do agree though there is something wrong with my setup. Just what exactly i don't know.

rpms is SPEED... if ur not gonna run the ski up to the rev limiter, then get rid of the ECU bc ur not gaining anything but some different ingition curves probably...

running it at 7500 rather than 8100 can be 3+ mph right there

Rpm's will give you more boost but is not a direct trade for speed.I think Shibby is right a good 3 mph with 8,100 rpm's.

I would also think that running @ 7450 when the ecu is capapble of 8100 R`s, that you are pushing that much more fuel into the engine and not utilizing it`s full potential. I would also think that at WOT runs you are washing the cyclinders bc you can`t spin up to max or near max R`s . Make any sense!?...PR...

yeah, I forgot you made the switch to the RXT set=up

Ok so what do i have to do to get my rpms up then? Take pitch off the trailing edge of the prop? Different prop? Screw it lets blow this mother up. I'm running 7600 rpms now. If i gain 2-3 mph in those 400 rpms up to 8000 thats great but i can't wait to see how it porposes then. It's down right violent now.

some of the prop guru`s will be able to help ya there, I`m not familiar with the RXT/RXP sizes and what they do...PR...

I'm going to try to make my own RE style block offs for the GTX/RXT hull. If they work as good as everyone says they do at eliminating porposing then i need a set asap.

You need to be running a 14/19R prop with 2 mm taken out of the trailing edge.
