Source for really long trailer wiring?

    Hi,

I'm looking for trailer wiring 35' long. I really don't want to do splices. Most trailer wiring kits come with 25' of wire. I've found one source that sells it in 30' lengths, but not longer.

Alternately, a source for the flat 4 blade vehicle plug, to which I can add my own length wires? Haven't been able to find that either....

    Michael

Any auto parts store will carry the flat plugs with a 2' pigtail. Most places that sell trailers will have wire that you can buy by the foot off the spool. I bet McMaster Carr carries wire also.

Do you just need extra length from the flat connector to get down the tongue to the tow vehicle?

There are 'extension' flat-four-pin cables, male to female, if you just need extra length down the tongue.

Splices aren't so bad, if you use the heat shrink sealing butt connectors. They are quite weather and water proof once they have been heat sealed.

I have previously posted a link to them somewhere on GH

Well, I'm about 8' short with the wiring that came with my LED kit.

On my last trailer, I ran continuous wire from the plug all the way into the inside of the lights. Worked great, eliminated any problems with splices.

I'd like to do the same here, but not finding anything long enough.

I've got the good butt connectors, and marine grade heat-shrink tubing. I just don't wanna use them! The only thing better than a properly done splice, is no splice at all!

most trailer shops carry it in 100 foot rolls or more and you can buy it by the foot, i have also cut the ends off of extension cords and used them, works great but a little pricey
