Thread: bogging badly

I have a 2005 GP1300 with 84 hours. New pistons and rings, #3 cylinder, premix, and a new D-plate.
Compression is 120 in all 3 cylinders.
I was going sell it and when someone came out to see it the ski (on trailor) was bogging badly. I noticed it a little bit on the lake 2 weeks ago. It runs very well at high speed.. From idle it has a 1 or 2 second delay and then takes off. Today on trailor it was bogging badly and started to smoke quite a bit.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I dont know if this apply to your engine but it does sound like it. Go to the How to section and look in the GPR\XLT Carb Accelerator pump removal .

I was having some problems in the water as well although not nearly as bad.
From idle when I hit the throttle there would be a short delay and then take off like crazy. This wouldn't happen every time but enough to know it wasn't quite right.

I had a slight bog after I installed my d-plate a few years back. I got an EFI controller and it went away.
