    Need suggestions on problem!

This one has really got me. When I pin the throttle on hole shot I have what appears to be a rich bog. When I am in a mid range cruise, then pin the throttle, I get another bog. On top end, I am down about 200 rpms and 5 mph. We think the ski is runnig rich because the amount of fuel on the plugs. I have swapped EFI controllers, changed out gaskets, checked all hoses and clamps for exhaust leaks, checked compression, changed the plugs, added new fuel and the problems just continues to get worse. I am going to get into the fuel injectors and reeds this week to see if I see any problems. I have never been on a ski with a cracked or broken reed so I do not know how the ski would react. Could this be a reed issue? Any suggestions?

A broken reed makes a ticking or poping sound. Check your TPS it might be loose and is out of range.

    GPR FL,

I HAD the same issue as that... It was a lean low end. You need to turn up your green pot on your EFI (That's assuming you have one...) I experianced it right after putting my D-Plate on (the first mod I did.)

As far as being down 200 RMPs have you check conpression?

Also if your thinking it's your throttle one thing to make sure is that you just a pinch of slack in the line. You need to be able to wiggle it just a hair at the start. I also lost a bit on top with that issue.

Good luck and let us know...

Tried many different settings on the EFI. Compression is 150, 150, 145. Mike has got me thinking about sensors now. I'm graspin at this point. LOL! Thanks for the input.

You know, my wifes '05 is that way also... Her's is 100% stock. It lags with the hole shot unles you let it warm up then it's great... I was thinking we had an air leak but after going through the ski I'm thinking it's just how it runs.

Bogging is a lean condition. Need to know all your mods. NOT PORTED I would try 6 on the green, 5 on the yellow, 2 on the red, and for the rmp dial you need to use your tach, the red lite should come on between 5500-6000. Mine is on 7 1/2 and comes on 5600, but they are all different. But you are in FL warmer temps, maybe just a touch leaner.

Green controls fuel, from idle all the way thru mid range.
Yellow adds a shot of fuel when you pin the throttle.
Red is high speed, non ported should not need anymore than 2
Rpm controls when the high speed comes on.
