Question on marine growth in keys..

I dont know where else to post this question - I am down in the keys with the skis - my friend has his ski here too. I keep pull mine out everynight - he says leaving them in for a week will not have a problem with marine growth... anybody have an opinion on it??? I have never left them...

    Thanks!

if it gets used once a day no problem with the growth -some find it safer to pull- it can always get messed up from the dock and tide or if a leak forms on last ride of the day , sunk by morning---worst case of course--
I have done it for months at a time with no problems at all..
after 3 days of non use you with start to get a film of slime then growth is faster but it only takes 30 mph to wipe it off IF you do it within a few days of forming

    Thanks Matt -

Slime I am worried about - but barnacles (or what ever they are) are a pain to to remove - I have bought skis with them on the hulls - it makes a mess. I have no idea how long skis would have to set to get them. Or maybe its worse up in NC?

    Barnacles

It takes a few weeks to get barnacle growth. Yeah on a fresh clean hull
it is a job to get 'em off. Pressure wash may work, but the only real solution
is bottom paint. You never have to do that with Jetski's.
A few days won't matter. It's handy to have an auto bilge pump. I put
    one on my Kawasaki.
The hotter the water the faster they grow. It is also dependent on the food
supply. They are alive and live off floating plankton.
