    Removing Reverse Lever and Bucket

My reverse lever finally froze up due to lack of usage, rust and corrosion from salt water. I tried greasing the metal joints under the handle lever and removing the rust on the rod by the nozzle, greasing it and the bucket hinges, but the handle is still very difficult to move. The cable assembly is probably rusted inside and needs replacement. As I hardly use the reverse lever any more, I am contemplationg removing the entire reverse lever assembly and bucket and installing a RIVA reverse lever block off kit. Does any one have experience removing the reverse lever assembly and can point me to the thread on this subject. Thanks for your help.

Best bet on this is to get a service manual. I think there are links somewhere so that you can get it online, or just order one.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I'll talk to my mechanic and see what's involved and what option will work best for me. I'll keep you posted.

3 x 10mm bolts and your LH cowl slides off...........5 min max
1 x hex bolt and reverse handle falls off
3 x more smaller hex bolts and assy fall out
disconnect assy from cable and you are done

    1/2 hr tops

did it on the weekend while floating on the water drinking bourbon while being tied to a house boat......... now I need a new black plastic reverse handle as my tabs broke off to many Seadoo brake turns

Thanks Sirbreaksalot. I hope it's as easy as you say. Did you also pull out the rod assembly in the back of the hull by the nozzle and plug the hole with silicone or something else or did you just leave it in? Love your dog!
