Help with my Advent
OK, before I go completly insane, can you guys look at this picture of my advent and see if I have the rev limiter set to 8100 rpm? I replaced my modded flywheel with a new stock oem flywheel, and it did the same thing...would not rev past 6800 rpm!! Then I turned all the rev switches to on and it was fine. It did the same thing with an R-D cdi, but with that box it would only rev to 4900 rpm. Ski runs fine with the stock cdi as well. Spud had the exact same problem with his ski, same modded flywheel, only his would not rev past 6800 with the STOCK cdi. Confused yet? I am.

cat con off
water temp off
It's confusing as the switches are upside down from the label.

OK, so are all advents labeled this way with the switch upside down? Or did I get an odd one?

I certainly did not remember mine being upside-down.
Where you able to get any good runs in?

I got 76.1 best speed at 7050 rpm with 6 gallons of gas on senators wash Friday morning. It was about 85 degrees outside. So the flywheel had to have helped somewhat. I also put stinger plumbing back to stock, not sure if that helped, I should have just done the flywheel to see if that alone was it. As it got warmer later, only got 75 mph. On the river saturday going down river after the weather cooled off, 2 bars of gas, Tracy clicked off a 78 mph run. That was with the stock CDI unit. I ran low on gas Friday and the low fuel warning was sounding, so I pulled into fishers to gas up, they were closed, then it wouldnt start. No spark at all, just cranked and cranked. As Luck had it I had the stock CDI, so I installed it and it ran fine. For some reason the advent freaked out when the low fuel warning came on and would not allow spark. This is getting old real fast.

This is from Hydrotoy's website. I recall mine being the same. This is worth a phone call to Advent.

I'm happy to see your numbers comming up. I hope the gremlins get worked out.
My buttons on my Advent look like Keith's. I bought mine from Carl at Island Racing. I have had bad luck with the quality of parts from other suppliers. Carl always seems to get first quality parts. Don't know why. Maybe the folks that supply him understand he is a total gearhead and can spot inconsistencies.
