I just ask the tech guys at Tial the same question. This was their response

    Hello,
For a blower, we have a special -3psi spring, that is the one you will want J

The spring pressures have nothing to do with boost, only vacuum at idle (when they will open) take the -12psi spring, -12psi is -24in/hg so the bov will crack open at -24in/hg, anything under that and it will be closed.

For a S/C app, you want the bov open at partial throttle to avoid pumping losses so we have the -3psi spring (-6in/hg) which will be open at any vacuum level below -6in/hg

    Regards,
    TiAL

    spring

The (bov) is not like a (waste gate) which controls boost on a turbo set up.
The spring on a (waste gate) controls how much boost u have into your engine and blow off the rest . While the (Bov) just releases pressure from a vaccum source that should be after the throttle body in order to prevent pressure from
geting to wheel of the supercharger or turbo.
I guess we can teach people on here alot . lol

I was referring to the springs that Tial states are for BOV use, not wastegate.

at the bottom of the pdf it says

    Measure engine vacuum at idle.

then i assume you would order the corresponding spring that falls between the vaccume readings they have springs for.

    I was aware of that.

I had asked what other (SHO) users were using. I already have that answer now.
