    glass and paste

for flattening surfaces, heads, cylinders, cases, manifolds ect. i use a sheet of plate glass, layed on a flat worktop. put a small amount of fine grinding paste over the glass with some light oil. put cylinder head on glass and move in figeur of eight movement say 4 or 5 times. wipe clean. and check surface has same scuffings all over thats flat, warning never take to much off. could a fect fit, use very fine grinding paste. good at showing low spots

For metal surfaces like the cyl heads I normally use 320 grit and soapy water.
