    Beware of dirty fuel

This was in the bottom of a 1300 fuel pump I just took apart.

    gas can examination

lots of problems have come from gas pump nozzels..check em before you stick them in your gas cans. If the previous customer had some ratty old truck, you could find nasty dirt and grease on or in the pump nozzle..makes it's way right into your gas can..then into the ski..or direct into the ski if you fill it that way. I've found similar chunky crap in the fuel filters of cars I've cut open out of curioisty.. No real way to avoid it, except dilligence at the pumps.
