    ??

I am new to the board and new to the RXP. I just ordered a new wear ring, prop and intake shoe. I had some broken fins off my shoe, so the guy I ordered from said to replace it. After doing some research on this site I am going to sand them all off and try that. But to answer your question, the guy I ordered from said it takes him about 8 hours to complete the shoe job, so yes pretty major. I can send you his contact info if you want.

X-shoe does not fit properly to the ramp on the grate. It leaves about a 3/8in gap between the shoe and the grate, You would have to add material to the grate for it to work properly. Better off sticking with the stock shoe.

DO NOT PUT AN X SHOE ON A RXP!!!!!!!!

You will have to modify an intake grate just to make it work... and there is absolutely zero advantage to run an X shoe on a RXP anyway. Don't ask me how I know this

Thats definitely the way to go... just make sure you seal up the bottom of the new shoe before you put the grate on! You want no gaps between the grate & shoe... thats why yours blew out. The grate is stronger mounted on an X plate... but the pump shoe is considerably weaker because of that too.
