I didn't have this issue. I don't have a SS wear ring either...

Yeah - the SS wear ring is not the issue. I used a sharpie and blackened the end of the prop and when I tightened it up and it started binding, I backed it off just enough to be able to spin the housing around the prop and make it grind. When I removed the prop, the black was worn off several places where the prop is touching the housing.

    This is frustrating.

Thats why i was told to use a 07 Solas concord.
put a 14/19r on that thing and go have fun in boat, not under boat.

Thanks for the reply. Do you mind elaborating? You tried the rxp-x prop in your 07?

Can anyone tell me if I am just screwed here or if something can be done to make this puppy fit?

I have to look - but I think there were a couple 150s with the same setup as I got power wise and year wise. They were both running rxp-x props.

I seriously just want to make this thing fit and move on with my summer.

TheElite0ne and I both have RXPX props, and they are working great. Has the best hole shot by far.

Are you sure its not an i/s or a late model prop that your trying to use? You can check to see if it is by seeing if it has an o-ring in the threaded side of the impeller. The late model impellers run different clearances and bind if you use them in the earlier housings.

I looked at your other post, The impeller is from an i/s style pump, It will not work, that one uses the o-ring in the recess.

Yeah - day late dollar short. Sucks. I ground down to the o-ring and a little beyond and I have a washer that fits over the threads and lets the prop snug into the shaft without binding. Problem solved?
