    Battery Voltage Problems

Checked battery and it was fine.

    On the volt meter:

    NON-Running - 12.65
    RUNNING - 12.25

Swapped out Rectifier's and same thing.

    Anybody

check output voltage at the voltave regulator before you pull the engine, also check all connections, fuses and tug on some wires going into connections, ive seen plenty of corroded wires drive me crazy. the two red wires going into the pos lead at the starter relay corrode a bit.

Checked most of the connections up front, everything good.
Checked the gound wires on the motor up front and all grounded out.
Checked all the fuses and were clean not blown, and all ran current through them.
I didnt have the wire kit to test the stator but I piggy backed the wires and they all tested at .4 ohm 1-2, 1-3, 2-3.
I tested to make sure I had an open circuit on each wire 1-2, 1-3, and 2-3. tested open on grounding.

Still at no power 12.65 v on battery, at idle running I have 12.24 v.

    Cannot figure it out.

One thing I did find is running the engine at 3500 and testing the Vac on the stator wires the manual says I should see 25 v at 3500 through 1-3, 1-2,and 2-3. I came up with zero. I am using piggies and not the special plug in that they show in the manual. Would this make a difference?

I read if it tests under 25 replace stator. stator ohmed out ok and had open circuit(not melted) so whats next?

Going to just recheck things. Let me know what you guys think.

Just disconnected a couple vts terminals and reconnected them. Now the stator is howing 25v from 1-2, 1-3, and 2-3. So the stator is ok! The vts wires had nothing to do with the problem I just think one of the piggy backs were not connected right. But still not seeing good voltage to the battery. Tried two different rectifiers and no luck. Yellow stator wires are conductive all the way to the rectifier.

Just put in the old rectifier and 14.65 V after the reg but 12.24 at the battery.

What is between the voltage reg and battery?
