    catch can?

Does a naturally aspired engine benefit from the catch can mod?
its for my buddy 08' gti non s/c.

also, when the mod is done which i will be doing to my rxp, what are you guys generally using to plug the hole on intake?

You wont see any gains from a catch can. It's really only used to catch the vapor/gas/oil sludge when you go to a different air intake.

I know that there is no performance gains just maintenance type. Just wasn't sure if it was only for s/c skis or non s/c as well?

I dont think there are any maintence gains either. Because now u will have to empty the can every onece and awhile were stock the blow by goes back into the intake and the motor deals with it.

    Re: catch can?

I have been reading and saw that the reason for it was so that stuff don't go into the sc, ic, or engine cause it is bad. Now I kind of think why even do it? Or was your response only for my buddy's non s/c ski?

I would say on the Non SC, it wouldn't be worth the effort or money. There probably wont be enough blow by to even see anything in there, but I could be wrong. With the SC, there are some benefits. Mostly as you stated before it is just to keep all of that garbage from clogging up your IC and intake. There may be a slight performance advantage too, as the engine isn't having to try to burn that up in the cylinder, but only very slight if any..

When I drain mine there is some moisture in it, I dont want that going through my engine!
