    '08 to '09 RXP X Prop Interchangability.

I know the driveshafts are different (at least part numbers) between the 8 and 9 RXP X. My question is whether an '09 prop will go in an '08 boat without changing the shaft.

    THX, Mark

i have both an o8 and 09 and you cant swap prop only...you must swat entire pump as it is a totally different setup...09 has an o-ring to seal the prop from the pump shaft.. and the shaft has a taper...the 08 has no o-ring and don't even try and put an 09 prop on an o8 cause IT WILL NOT WORK AT ALL!!

I figured there were some kind of complications involved. Now I know what they are.

    Thank you.

The props will interchange from 08 to 09, they are different part numbers but they are still basically the same prop, the pumps are different but the props are not as far as the mounting threads are concerned! The pumps can also be switched back and forth between ski's but some of the pump parts cannot interchange. You can't just go by part numbers.

sorry I own both 08 and 09 and you can't run an o9 prop in an 08 pump IT WILL NOT WORK...there is a o ring on the prop hub and has a lip for that o ring...you may be able to run an 08 prop in an o9 pump but i dont think the pump shaft is the same either...just my 2 cents

TAKE THE O-RING OFF! Physically it will fit and work!! I just put a 15/22 from an 08 into an 09 with no problems, Yes I know this is not a factory prop but the only difference for the factory prop fitment is the o-ring and by the way I did not remove the o-ring to install the 15/22. The o-ring by the way is too seal the threads, thats it, and on all the prior years they didn't have that and we haven't had any problems so its not an issue. The pump housing, impeller shaft and tail cone are re-designed for 09+ but you can put an 08 shaft in an 09 pump, if you had too, its not a direct plug in, you would need the 08 shaft and the sleeve and o-ring for that shaft but the rest the guts are all the same.....FOR SHO!!

OK, but my question is whether or not I can put an '09 prop (RXP X RS) into the '08 pump. Just because the 8 will go into the 9 doesn't automatically mean the 9 will go into the 8, or does it.

Thanks for all the input, however.

The 9 will go into the 8.....but why are you wasting your time with that prop????????? Get a 15/22 and call it a day
