    difference betweeen cat and d-plate

I have a used 2001 gpr 1200. I'm trying to find out if it has a d-plate. looks like it has the sensor. Is there anyway to tell if it has the d-plate without taking the stinger apart? Got some pics.

Not sure if there is any way to tell since the flange on the cat looks the same as as d-plate from the outside. I'm guessing that since your temp sensor is still intact that you could unplug your chip, plug the sensor back in and start it up. I don't know how long it should take for it to realize the readings are off and to set off the warning, but it could give you a better idea. Or you may just have to yank out the stinger and check. This is strictly a guess, I'm sure someone else has some better info.

I noticed that when my ski had the converter ,it would stay hot under the seat for about an hour, but after the d-plate was installed I never had heat issues, the underseat temps are pretty low now. feel the pipe after you load it on the trailer and see if its real hot right in the converter can also remove the mounting bolts to the block, slide the rubber water jacket forward, slide the inner rubber sleeve forward and you should be able to peek inside using a strong flash light. hope this helps

Thanks everyone, ski does not get hot at all. Why would the sensor be bypassed unless it had the d-plate?
