    New 2008 RXT... what next?

I'm going look at an 08 RXT tomorrow. It has just over 30 hours on it. What things do I need to do now or look out for in the future to make sure it lasts a long time. I'm not new to pwc's or sea-doos or even 4-tecs, but I am new to this model. Does this one have the ceramic or metal washers for the SC clutch? Anything else? Thanks.

I just picked up a brand new 08 RXT a couple months ago. I believe this is the least problematic 4tec ski seadoo has ever put out. No clutch washer worries - yes they are metal. No pump tunnel worries. ETC.

The only thing I have read on this about the 08's is a possible compression ring issue... See post from fellow member Duke >>> CLICK <<< although it's an 08 rxpx engine - this might be the only issue?

I'd buy mine again - if that helps.

    Good Luck!

Thanks for the reply Craigo. Glad to hear it it's got the steel washer, and that it's a good reliable package.

Yes it has the metal washers but some people have still had problems with these. For extra piece of mind you could always upgrade them. For long term reliability you should also purchase a water strainer. That will make sure no debris goes into your intercooler creating problems later down the road. Other than that just change your oil and plugs and enjoy your ski for years to come!!

Wow even the metal washers have problems? What is the upgrade? Stainless? Are the upgraded washers and strainer in the store here?

Here is a link to the Riva Metal Washers: http://www.4-tecperformance.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=18_63&produ cts_id=923. Im guessing they are just better quality compared to the OEMs, seeing how they are both metal.

Heres the link for the strainer: http://www.4-tecperformance.com/inde...oducts_id=1430

Last but not least, link for the strainer install with pics:http://greenhulk.net/forums/showthread.php?t=79658

Dont forget the greenhulk coupon code at checkout .

    Thanks use2vtec for the links.

$110 for a set of metal washers?

I'd hope that it's more than a guess that they're better quality.
