99 slt-x 1050 ?
Does not belong to me but the guy who owns has had it in 4 different shops trying to find out whats wrong with it
It runs good up till about half throttle then starts loosing rpms. If you feather the throttle a little bit it will try to pick up rpms. Gas is good and one of the shops said they rebuilt and adjusted the carbs. Has new plugs. Compression is 120 across all 3 cylinders.
I am leaning towards a fuel issue. Any ideas before I pull the carbs and reeds out ?

Yeah I have the selector switch in my mind but didnt think about the pick up.
Well I pulled the carbs and reeds. Reeds look great and cant see any gaps. The carbs on the other hand are way out of adjustment
PTO carb 4 1/2 rounds out
Center 2 rounds
Mag 2 rounds
Of course highs are not adjustable
Anybody know where to find a manual or stock carb settings?

Settings changed like every year.
The 99 called for 1 1/2 out.
Also check the pop-off 18-20 psi.
Were all the diaphrams installed properly ?
Wonder why they cranked up the PTO.

thanks for the settings. not sure why they cranked the pto out like that. I havent pulled the carbs apart yet working on getting the fuel tank unbolted and slid ahead to pull out the pick up.

Bringing this thread back. Well we got everything put back together found out the on/off selector was broken and causing a flow issue so we bypassed that for a test run until the new selector arrives. When we test rode the ski it run better but would only turn 5500 rpms. As soon as he brings the ski back i will check plug color and report back. I am thinking it may be an electrical issue.
