    Removing Stock FZR Intake Grate

    Hello,

I am going to replace the stock intake grate with the r&d on my fzr (whenever they decide to take it out of storage). I know some people have had problems with the stock bolts breaking. What is the best way to get the bolts off?

    Thank you.

    Lou

Heat the bolts first and then slowly turn them out. Check here.

Any idea how long I should heat the bolts? Unfortuneatly I may not be getting my ski until Memorial Day! I already have a heat gun so I will use it.

I'd heat them for ~5 seconds and try to take them out. If it is still difficult, give them a few more seconds of heat. Just use the heat sparingly, its better to go slow than to realize you caught something on fire . A hairdryer would probably work better than that torch imo.
