    Stupid question regarding Exhaust cooling

I was thinking if the exhaust hose is able to pull water when in full throttle. is the hose inside the water or is the hull so much up that it cannot pull water from the sea ?

also ... is it this hose that goes on the top of the exhaust that we need to seal if the ski is to be towed ?

    thx

the pump is pushing water through it, its not pulling any water.... your pumps pushing you forward, its pushing water through your exhaust. sometimes if your constantly jumping waves all the air bubbles forced through the exhaust can make overheat.

what kinda ski do you have, on the newer models the hose that needs to be blocked has a red wrap on it

yup!! hook it up to the hose when your done, some like to put dawn (or some other kind of dish soap) in the hose first, and run it till bubbles come out..... why dish soap, not exactly sure, i only run in fresh water, but i know they do it!

ok now I am confused... besides the flushing point at the rear of the ski where I attach the water hose, do I flush any other hose as well?

at the back of the ski correct. before you put the hose on the ski pour a bunch of dish soap in there. when you turn it on it will flow through all the same areas the salt water does. im ASSUMING the dish soap helps neutralize the corrosive nature of salt water. maybe some who knows will say. but basically your just trying to flush the salt water out of your engine.
