Any idea what the crank case looks like on the inside of the crack?

Not sure what I am looking at.

Has this spot been repaired previously, or is that just soapy bubbles in the pictures?

hi k447 it was a previouse owner repair, i think rod or skirt broke. ive done 7 hours on it. then piston melt on pto, were repair is. if you zoom on 1st pic the 2 scratch lines is the leak about 1/4 inch looks like weld run over paint. not flowed in properly, bubbles is were pressurized at 5 psi. as far as i can see, its was between weld and case paint. now removed

You want to try repairing this without taking the crank case bottom off?

That is fair amount of heat close to the case seam and the PTO crank seal
