    Sound on my SLT 780!

Just got my 'Sound Exciters' in the mail today... Lightly sanded the hull where I wanted them, wiped it down, and stuck them on.

They were $17 from Parts Express, and the amp was $13, I had the cheapo MP3 player, which is about $10.
Sounds fairly good for audio on a boat, plays somewhat loud, and you cant even see it!
The speakers themselves are about 3" round, and look like this...

Ill try and post a video when I get it on the water, should be able to even hear it over the engine at idle.
Ryanbgb22 has a similar setup, except he has a MP3 player with a FM radio built in. We will probably get his setup done later today.

How good is the mid-base response?

That glove box looks a little rough inside

It overall sounds much better than expected. ZOMGVTEK has a better mic on his camera so you can get a better feel for how it sounds in his video. I would imagine that this is a much better alternative than mounting speakers would be. The amps we are using have bass and treble adjustments, so we can alter the sound.

The glove box will not come clean. I sprayed it with shout, bleach, and even tried steam cleaning it.

The 'speakers' themselves actually sound quite good for the purpose. The main limitation here is the amp, its rated at 18W or something like that, RMS, '200 peak', so im sure its closer to 10ish watts. Its the only thing I could find thats small and cheap. It has massive distortion if you start cranking the bass up, but the setup on my ski actually goes surprisingly low if you had the power. Tweaking the bass/treble on the amp gives you about the sound you would expect from a 5" marine driver. And the amp draws under 1A at full volume, so it should run for a long while.

Sometime soon I need to finish up my setup and record a new video. Its been raining and I dont have garage space like ryanbgb22 does... Were going out this Sunday, might record a video or two on the water.

    I would get these...
    http://www.parts-express.com/pe/show...number=300-375
These just stick on. Sand it down, clean it well, peel and stick.

These are what ryanbgb22 used. I got them to screw around with, he wanted them... You need to glue these, and bypass the high/low pass filter. (short two pins)

And any amp you want, and some cheapo mp3 player / radio thing like ryanbgb22 has. He got his off ebay, and the amps are the cheapest on ebay.

Here is a example of the amp. They come in slightly different colors, styles, etc, but are all the same internals. Search for '12v boat amp' or '12v motorcycle amp', 'mini amp', things like that... They go for $10-20... Its a crappy amp, but works, is cheap, and probably all you would want to be drawing off your little battery and stator.
