Polaris freedom engine rebuild
I have a 2003 freedom that I picked up on the cheap. The crank was locked up and needs rebuilt. I was thinking of going with a completely rebuilt engine from www.pwcengine.com. Any thoughts? My pistons are good just a bad crank. My plan is to resell when complete to fund other projects, but that could change the first time I hit the water with it. I have 400 in the ski now and would be at 1100 after the engine with a 2 year warranty. Would I have a higher profit just parting it out? Thanks for the input.

Welcome to the Hulk
The Freedom is the same hull as the Virage, just with fewer bells and whistles. The Virage/Freedom is a stable hull, very comfortable for two people.
The red Polaris 700 engine is economical on fuel (for a PWC), generally very reliable, and easy to maintain.
Once you get it running properly, it should be good for years of enjoyment. Many of the parts are interchangeable with the Virage and other Polaris models, so there is an ample supply of good used parts, and still many new parts available.
