Group Buy to Tap Older Exhaust Manifolds for afr

I have asked Jerry for his permission on this group buy and he gave me his blessing.

I have been talking to Bryan (bigdaddyRXP) about starting up a group buy together. We are trying to start a group buy to allow the older exhaust manifolds to be tapped for the o2 sensors. It has been known that it is much more difficult to drill the older exhaust manifolds due to their casings. By drilling it with the mill machine, you know that your manifolds will come out perfect.

Bryan has a friend who owns a mill shop, and can provide his services to us for a cheap fee. The prices will start at $90 for the first manifold (to set the machine up), and $30 for each ones after that. With this group buy, we can split the $60 cost, and still have our manifolds drilled for cheap. You will also have to pay shipping both ways.

This group buy will last a week from today, so payments will have to be sent to Bryan's paypal address by May 14, 2010. You will then have another week to send in your exhaust manifold after the payment deadline which will be May 21, 2010. You can ship out your unit earlier than that, but this is the deadline date that Bryan actually needs your exhaust in his hands.

If in fact this group buy is successful, I would like for us to donate some type of fee to Bryan for helping us out and for him to be kind enough to take some time off his day so that he can ship out our manifolds back to us.

If you are interested in this group buy, please put your name on the list, and try to send out your payments asap! If you pay with paypal, please add the 3% fees so that Bryan does not take the hit, or you can just send as a gift to deduct all fees.

Before shipping out your manifolds to Bryan, please remove the 2 fittings off the back so that it can go on the mill. Also please mark your name on your manifold by attaching some sort of tape or note on it.

    No, the actual exhaust manifold.

no the manifold because it will allow the o2 sensor to last longer vs having it on the jpipe. How is your ski running btw?

Why would the sensor last longer in the manifold as opposed to the j-pipe?

Doesnt water travel through the J Pipe as opposed to the manifold?

The j-pipe is water jacketed (the manifold is also water jacketed), I guess if you put the bung welded near the waterbox that could create a problem

I had one installed in my j-pipe on my 2005 before I went to the 2008 set-up and actually never had a problem. Even when I left the sensor in the pipe when not running my wideband. When I went to the 2008 set-up and drilled my manifold, I can't leave the sensor in it for very long without being plugged in or it goes bad.

hm. From the older thread's i've read it seems like people had more luck of having their sensor lasting longer in the manifold.

    Scott,

This is for the pre 08's. Here is a picture of Bryan's manifold that he had gotten done on his ski.
