    Replacing Boot on VTS rod

Hey guys my buddy (Radeon) just bought a 2004 RXP and is taking on water at the back of the ski, I looked at it yesterday to figure out where it was coming from and found a ripped boot on the VTS rod, what is involved in replacing this boot, I cant seem to find anything else that wouldnt be leaving water into the ski.

    thanks
    jon

Did you try filling the back of the ski and tilting it yet?

I don't have my skis in front of me, but I replaced the boot on my 96XP.

If it's anything like that it's real easy. Disconnect the VTS rod at the pump nozzel, loosen the clamps on the VTS boot, slide off, slide new boot on, tighten clamps.

Back in the day guys were using zip-ties over the hose clamps because if you over tighten the boot it rips real easy. The X4 skis came with the clamps too tight and a lot of the boots were ripped.

You also need to check the o-ring and seal on the VTS: #11 and #17.
