    Help with 96 XP

Just picked up a 96 Xp in great shape motor has good compression BUT. the mag cylinder is filling with oil. PO has told it has a seal leaking. I have a service manual but not sure where to start. Any help would be happily accepted want to add this ski to my fleet. Thanks

Can't get it started oil in cylinder is keeping engine from turning over. Pull plug and will turn over fine blows oil out of plug hole

you will most likely need a new crank, the RV seals are bad.

But you can use your old one as a core, whats the compression? once its apart it wouldnt hurt to replace the old grey fuel lines, rebuild the carbs, and if it needs it, go ahead and do a top end. so you can start fresh, I'm telling you this from a personal experience dont cut corners, start fresh and the ski will be trouble free through out the season.

Compression is 150 in each cylinder

    i'd doo this

I'm sure someone might bash me but im going to tell ya what i've done and will do again because it worked. I would agree the rotory valve seeals on the crank are seeping a bit so pull the plug and oi you have some kind of suction device(a spray bottle sprayer works great)get all you can then bump it over and over, then install the plug, get it start and it will probably quit.then pull the plug and clean it with carb cleaner and do it again. repeat as needed until its running...now the fix.I went to Autozone and picked up a bottle of stop leak seal conditioner .I know, get the thin-thin kind and pour bout half in the oil injection rezo (when its full) run it for some hours and it should slow it or stop it all together . What have got to loose? the only other option IS to replace that crank, goodluck

It worked for him, but I think before adding that to the oil reservoir he should empty it, and mix the gas, or else he will seize the engine, cause instead of oil going into the cylinders that mix will.
