what is the right impeller pitch for utlra260 with stage 1 kit?

    Guys,
What is the correct impeller pitch for an ultra260 with a rnd stage 1 pulley kit? Is the rnd intercooler upgrade kit a big help for the said unit? Thanks.

I'm also dealing with prop issues, have tried two diffrent pitches on stock props, This is my build http://www.greenhulk.net/forums/showthread.php?t=121296
I would leave it for now if you have good speed and rpm's, if not it can get expensive sending props back and fourth to Impros and then you have the wait time.

from what I was told by Dave at Impros is that a 260 prop is 16/22

is the 260 impeller ok already for the pulley kit? isnt it gonna cavitate in the holeshot? my ski is a 260 already and the kit is arriving anytime soon. hope the kit as listed on rnd web works without the impeller.

The stock 260 prop looks more like a very light 15/22 to me......barely. real close to a heavy 14/21 range...

I'd start with the stock prop and get a baseline for your rpm's and then work from there.

    the key words are

start with a GOOD stock prop & good clean liner/housing

GOOD meaning rebuilt to the tightest clearance they can do
my last prop was 3 tho ( need greasing big time for 1st run )

Timmy. Do you want more speed, or you want to be quicker? On my 2007 Stock Boat (I did some prop bending "this way and that way". I could get the boat a little quicker, but could never get any more speed out of this process. In fact most of the bends just made it slower (the Group I ride with that's a bad thing). I came to the conclusion you need alot more horsepower to get more speed from "prop bending". On my 2009 (again stock) I have left the Prop alone . . . the stock prop is pretty darn good. JB

yeah il better try with stock first. coz i have a 250 before with riva stage 1 and intercooler upgrade kit and waterbox, the ski just cavitates in the holeshot. now with the pulley kit i assuming it would be the same thing. cavitation in the holeshot and maybe a better top end.

    a example for u

my pulley kitted 250 with extras
on average condition pump cavitates 2-3 time out of the hole with a worn pump

but with a good fresh prop/liner it has 0 cavitation 95% of the dead stop starts

so pump condition is the key factor

just like having a bald tyre on a dirt bike
