Please Help with Ignition Problem(s) 1100

Just wondering if anyone had ran into this problem before I take out the service manual.

    95' 1100 Raider

Have spark on 1 and 2 but only for one second. No spark on 3.

    REGULATOR?
    IGNITION COIL?
    C.D.I.?
    STATOR?
    COIL?

    Thanks

    Found two problems so far.

1: #3 spark plug cable is broken near the middle.
2: Test the resistance of the CDI and it does not match up with the manual.

One question, does the CDI need to be plug in or unplug when testing it? All of my readings is off. Manual say it should be near the Kilo Ohm and I'm reading in the Mega Ohm

If its like the GP 1200 testing the cdi is a waste of time.I have tried testing known good cdi's and they tested bad.
Test everything else and if they all test good then try a loaner cdi
You already know you had a bad plug wire.
Caps screw on and often they break at the cap.(no spark)

Manual say I need a Pocket Tester. Can I just use my Ohm meter to test the CDI?

I agree with Scotty. Try a good used cdi if possible. Most cdi tests I have ever done were inconclusive.

Pull the front cover and take a peek, I have seen alot of 1100s with all kinds of rust and crud inside the front cover from water getting inside.

Bad/ broken sparkplug wires (internally) are common.

Clean the cover and fix the spark plug cable but the problem wasn't fix. It ran great out of the water but would not stay on in the water. It would fire for half of a second but would not start. Replace the CDI and everything is working like it should.

    Thanks for the help everyone
