supercharger rebuilds noise
just had a delear rebuild 2 superchargers 04 rxp and 05 rxt
got parts from here. when they gave them back to me the red one 04rxp makes a ticking noise when i spin it with my hand is that normal? i havent installed it yet..
i installed the 05 rxt all went well on install but when i start the ski, the supercharger is very loud is that normal ? i have not put it in water yet...

Ticking noise is not normal. Sounds like a broken bearing cage or piece of trash in a bearing. Dont run it.

I've rebuilted close to 20 now, and NO....ANY noise is not normal at all, looks like there is a problem with the rebuilt, and i would NOT run a noisy supercharger in any engine at all....you'd be better to remove that from there before it ruins something else...
Supercharger is supposed to be very smooth and quiet after the rebuilt, just like you would expect from any rebuilted new bearing unit.
Get that crap out of your engine before it blows anything...!

Mine has a "whistle" sound that you can hear in this video here:
Mine isn't quite as bad as that though.

hammered bearings can tick as well, as hammering dents the groove and as the ball rolls across it it will tick, get it out if its that
