    replacement of flywheel bolts (03-05)

has anyone had a bad experience with the oem flywheel bolts on an 03-05 seadoo. i noticed that there are some upgraded ones in the online store and want to know if it is absolutely necessary because i don't want to have to dig that deep in the engine. i am upgrading to rr racing ecu and want to know if anyone has had their flywheel bolts fall out like it says in the online store.

I can't speak for everyone... but I ran the 05 bolts for nearly 200 hrs without any issues before I changed them out. However... running a higher rev limit defintely isn't gonna help any either!

Does this answer your question... its worth it to avoid this. These bolts appear to stretch and become loose or in this case Break while you are tightening them....

if the engine is out its easier... you drain the oil, pull the pto cover, unbolt the magneto, and the hex bolts are right behind it. Make sure you get a lbs per in tork wrench and some lock tight..

thats cause there strech bolts and are not reusable.

Actually they do not recommend lock tite but I agree with using it. I had the unfortunate experience of my bolts backing out on me TWICE with new bolts each time! So on the 3rd go round I actually replaced the flywheel, new bolts of course, locktite and its been running ok since
