I replaced my 10 amp with a 15 amp because the pump draws more than 10 under load above 70 lbs although most people dont seem to have a problem with the 10's.
You may want to verify on the bench that there is nothing wrong or shorted out in the pump first though.

Wow, I see were it pulls more than 10. Thank you. The pump is brand new out of the box. It test good on the bench and then I put it in the tank and I get about two primes in and then boom pops fuse.

I never usend a bigger fuse on the last 4 and only 4 I have done.

    Just go 15amp fuse?Hua?

Thats what I did although I never popped a 10 either. I think almost everyone on this forum running the walbro is still running 10s. Kinda strange your is popping them but 10 amp is border line at best.

Careful austin, This is the exact problem that took me & ralph (Trawlercat) out of the Mark Hahn300 race this year. He had a new walbro & it ran good for about 20 laps & then started blowing fuses. It blew the 15amp too but it lasted longer. We put his OEM pump back in and all is good now. The Walbro would sputter like you were running out of gas & then kill the fuse. I would replace it!

Ok guys, What I did was pull the walbro and put it in anothere sending unit and it worked perfect with the 10amp fuse. I did notice a strange idle.

Hey I ordered a obx fuel filter for him also, but I believe he will be safe until it comes in.

So, the sending unit is the problem here?

I would guess. It worked perfect with stock pump. The I pulled it apart and reassembled with walbro and when I was primeing the fpr it shot a fuse and acted up.
Replace sending unit with 12 hour 07 unit and all worked well besides a wierd idle.
