    1989 SP Budget Build

The following are a few pictures of my SP budget build. I got it from Craig's for $100. The original carb was still in it and it was not working so i found a Mariner intake and SBN carb and slapped it on. The SP ran 41mph on the GPS. This made me very happy. The ski had been sitting for over 5 years before i picked it up. After my 41 mph run i pulled the engine cleaned and painted it, pulled the gas tank and cleaned the inside of the hull with alot of degreaser and elbow grease. Then i turned my attention to the pump. I disassembled it and gave it the old wire wheel treatment and finished off with epoxy paint from Home Depot. Over all i think it's coming out pretty good. More to come.

I could not wait to ride my sea cougar yesterday so at around 7:00pm i headed to the canal. Unfortunately the sky decided to open up and i could only ride for about 5 minutes. She ran great i, did not want to open her up because i hadn't hooked up my bilge pump and i have a slight problem with my seal carrier. The brand new inner seal is pretty much shot, the spring is stretched and the rubber is shredded (pic later on today). No water was leaking in from there but i will have to repair it. I have a question which seal carrier is better the one that i have in the picture or the other one?
(note: the one in the picture is the original, i rebuilt it)
