Question Photos HELP Intake Grate Install Problems! with Aquavein Stealth SXR 800

    Hi,

    How does this thing fit???

I tried putting it on today, first the stock ride plate is a little to long, grider, that should do it.

But the big issue I have is at the end of the intake near the impleller, it does not sit flat, feels like it teeter totters on Jet Ski.

And if I look along the side, the "wings" are up about 1/8" to about 1/4" space.

    How should this thing fit?

I looked at the stock, it fits tight, and the area that I think is to thick on the Stealth is about 1/8"-1/4" thicker than the stock. Grinder should fix that, but can't understand why I need to take a grinder to brand new piece??

Really need some input on this one. I want to get it on, and get some riding in on Sunday.

    Thanks!

Sounds like the same things we run into on the ultra 150s when installing the r&d aquavein. They take some grinding to get the fit like it should be.

    Thanks,

Why would they make something that does not fit properly?? These things are not cheap, and are made for that model.

Baffles me, I was hopeing for a quick 5 minute 4 bolt job...

Thanks again, took the grinder to both the R&D & stock ride plate.

The R&D was far from straight where it meets the edge of the ride plate!

    Fits nice now.

Look forward to trying it out next weekend!

Lol I have spent hours under my ultras getting that perfect fit. My r&d grate made my shredmaster plate hang way low plus the front mount hung low. I did alot of grinding and dry fitting before I got happy with it and sealed it all in.
