    Which grate is better?

I have a protec grate on my ski and I want to update it. I want to put a grate for speed, not the 800 one because I will lose bottom end.

    Which one between:
    R&D
    Riva
    R&D single bar

I read a lot about them but I can't decide.
    What did you guys think?

Thank you fullboogie, I have to check riva forum from time to time.

Anyway, bad thing happened to me today, again on craigslist, I went and picked up a used riva grate just to come back home and find under the fresh paint two cracks . Called the guy back, told him about them, he was "surprised". Hopefully I can see him tomorrow and give him the grate back. Never thought about checking the grate for cracks. Next time will know.

riva 1200 is supposed to be the safest OEM option, i.e. least prone to cracking but the grate failure issue is mainly seen on 800 grates on 75mph + skis.

the strange thing is riva gets its grates off r&d as r&d owns the patent on them.

by far the safest option of the greenhulk SS 800 grates but they were made in very limited numbers.

thats generally caused by the pump over stuffing , like using the stock grate that came with them from factory and some after market engine mods ....the OEM grates are very well known to cause this condition.

install an after market r&d, riva or worx and you wont buck again until you over stuff passing 80 mph odd.
