    Need PWC Insurance Help Quickly!!

I am looking for someone that will insure a modified PWC.
I have found Markel and someone else that will do the modified part but they only do cash value of the ski. One of them said $8500 and the other said $12,000.

Problem is I need it covered for $25,000.

So what do you guys do with high dollar watercraft?
Insure the ski and nothing on it and take your chances??

There has to be some way of adding add on parts to a watercraft??

    Any Help would be great!

    David

Not really sure if this helps, but State Farm lets me set the value I want it insured for. I am sure their are some sort of limits, but it is worth a shot.

She (the GF) does this for a living but her company doesn't do personal watercraft (normally race teams).

She said she'll will check tomorrow.

i was just going to say this.. i work for state farm.. and they had me set the value of the ski..

set it for what ever you want.. they might question the number so they might ask you why but you should not have a issue.. but again i set my one at 2 grand so i am not sure how high you can go.. they also might want pictures but that should be the extent of it

Yeah, State Farm gives me the best prices but they have a thing about taking pictures. They took pictures of each ski, each car and a walk through with pictures of my house. But if that is what makes them happy and they give me the best rate for the coverage I want it works for me.

Ditto on all the State Farm replies.

Nvr had to file a claim on my RXP but I can say I've been with State Farm for abt 20 yrs & nvr had any problems.

Well State Farm says no modified skis.

Anyone else have any other idea's?

Markell says if my new $12,000 ski gets stolen they will give me $8,500.

    This shouldn't be that hard??

How about a rider on my homeowners for the parts?
I have other riders for other things why not these parts?

How should I approach them about it?

what did you say to them?

i can check tomorrow and see what my office says about it.. i know they wont insure a car under "classic" if its modified but they still will insure it under a normal policy i believe,

i think they dont have a issue if it was stock then you modified it, i asked a question about putting a turbo on a car if the rates would go up and i was told no rate increase
