Need help with a 04 seadoo 3d not starting
I picked up a 04 Seadoo 3d with a problem.
When you put the key in it beeps and the fuel pump runs but it will not turn over. The fuel gauge illuminates and the red maintenance light flashes. You can cross the solenoid and the starter spins the motor. The guy I bought it from said it ran great last year and when he put the battery in this year it just wouldn't start.
Any help on where to begin.

It gives the 3 chirps when you put the key in and chirps again every so often. When you hit the starter button it gives 4 loud beeps then back to the regular chirping.

does it turn over at all? or will it just not fire?
i would suggest you take it to a dealer and have them run BUDS on it

It will not turn over at all using the starter button. It just gives the 4 loud beeps then goes back to chirping.
What is BUDS and any idea what it would cost?

When you plug the lanyard on to the post you should hear 2 short beeps. The 4 beeps you are hearing is just a reminder that you left the lanyard attatched when the engine is not running. First check all your fuses. There are 2 fuses that should be attatched to the positive battery cable. If those are ok verify all the fuses on your MPEM are good. There is a rectangular cover they snaps off and they are underneath it.
If all fuses are ok then verify that you have power going to your starter relay. You can use a multimeter or a test light. Un-plug the connector with 2 wires plugging into the base of the relay. With the lanyard plugged in, hit the start button and see if you have power.
If you do, then you have a bad Starter relay. They are cheap and go bad often.

It will only short beep with the dess key installed. It makes 4 loud beeps when you hit the starter button. I checked all the fuses on the mpem. I will go out and check starter relay.

It does not have any power at the solenoid at the 2 wire plug when you hit the starter switch. The positive cable runs direct from the battery to the starter solenoid. There is 1 ~ 20 amp fuse that is beside the starter solenoid but that is good.
anything else to look for?

I could be totally off, but do you have the right key in? If I recall correctly (and I could be wrong) when I mix the keys up on my GTI and RXP they will beep and the gauges cycle on like normal but it will not start.

Sounds like the connection into the rear electrical box.
The 4 pin square connector. Check inside the male and female ends.... one will have corrosion.
