    Ventilation Duct

    Part #9 here:

    http://partsfinder.onlinemicrofiche....=13&A=129&B=25

What's the use of the duct running to the bottom of the ski? Without it wouldn't the ski still vent no problems?

Its at the bottom because that is where the gasses accumulate. It needs fresh air to circulate.

I was considering pulling it out to make room for a bilge that I had just installed but you both make good points. I should probably leave it. Thanks guys.

Cut it down to 1/2 length and install a 3" blower in it. Power the blower from the VTS hot side w/ a switch/breaker or fuse. No problem with 'ventilation' and it'll expel a lot of the hot air from the engine compartment and Rotax engines love to breath cooler air when they can so make your engine

Wouldn't that impede air flow INTO the hull?

You both are right..It is used mainly to keep water out if the ski flips upside down though..

No cause if you use the blower to SUCK the air out it will pull fresh air in from the front tube...Therefor keeping the airflow moving constantly helping in eliminate heat fade...

Ok......so the single 3" oem vent tube up front is enough for venting, but yet most of us installed a 4" kanaflex?
