    XL1200 Bogging at Idle

I have a 00 xl1200 that is bogging from idle, if i floor the throttle it will either cut out or rev up slowly until approx 3000 rpm and then run fine. I I feather the throttle all is fine.

Compression good on all 3 cylinders. Approx 90hrs on ski.

I immediately suspected carb/fuel problem so I rebuilt all 3 carbs with genuine mikuni kits. Pressure tested all 3 carbs. pressure tested and check the pop of pressure on all 3 needles and seats. All good there. carbs were in good condition before rebuild.
New gaskets, fuel filter, removed the fuel flap in tanlk, checked condition of fuel cock.

everything now back together and still have the issue. On the hose it will start fine. If I floor it it will bog and may cut out. what I did notice is that the idle seems to vary, and sometimes it will hover at 3k or a couple of seconds before coming down to 1200 rpm.

If I increase the indle speed it seems to reduce the amount of bogging.

What might be causing my problem.

    Vacuum leak somewhere.

Took carbs out again and double checked everything. All is as it should be. I also checked and resealed the reed cages while the carbs were off.

Was looking for the factory carb settings but it turns out that this is what you guys would refer to a "export" (accelerator pump on all 3 carbs)

    The needles/seats are 1.2
    Main jets are all 135
    Pilots Jets are 92.5

I checkedthe low speed screws are they are all closed off fully.
Can anyone suggest where I might get the factory carb settings for this ski. 2000 XL1200 Limited.

Any other suggestions as to what might be wrong

Let's try this again - have you pressure tested the engine for an air leak?

Leak test was the one thing I did not do, as I thought a leak would not cause the symptoms I am having.
    Will leak test in morning.

    power valve's working???

Ok did leak test today and all good.
Power valve motor was not working so I fitted another, power valves now working but problem still exists.

I have removed the carbs to check the setting of the low screws. All 3 are fully closed, this does not look right to me. So I have now set all 3 at 1 turn out and will test later.

I think that with the stock carb low speed settings for an Eu spec ski being roughly 11/2 turns out, if you start at 1 turn out, you'll run it lean, the 1 turn out rule is normally apllied with the rejetting specs.
I would start at 2 turns out so it's rich(safer)and turn them in until it revs up and doesn't sputter.

Can I ask how you know the spec for the eu model. I have been looking for it and received differing answers
where might I get a copy of the EU spec service manual.
