    2009 rxt215 or 2010 rxt 215

Hi! New to Forum. Quick question about the 2 skis.
I will be picking one up tomorrow cant decide which one .
Is the 2010 much better in anyway than the 2009 besides hull?
    2009 cost out the door...

Well, the 2010 RXT is really a completely different ski in many ways; the main differences on the 2010 are the new iControl system which controls everything including throttle, and the addition of iBR (Intelligent Brake & Reverse) the world’s first on-water braking system.

With the new system you actually start the ski in neutral, and then select forward or reverse from there; this gives the beginner a much easier task when trying to dock the ski or put it on the trailer.

Now if you plan on modifying the ski for more speed, this new iControl system could pose a problem initially, since it limits the speed of the ski via the computer. The 2010 two seaters (RXP and P-X) do not have the iControl system.

So the big thing with the 2010 RXT and T-X is the new hull and also giving neophytes a whole new level of safety and control. With a simple squeeze of the lever, you can stop your watercraft on demand, even at high speed. This is in contrast to all other PWC on the market, which can take up to 100 feet to stop. Here is the BRP spec page on the 2010 RXT 215 hp:

Ok Thanks for the feed backs. I dont really care about the safety issue so much. I do care about acceleration and fuel though. That is why I am choosing the rxt215. I could get the 2008 rxt x 255 for 12,000 OTD. But I read that there are issues with it that I dont want to mess with. PLUS FUEL EATER.

I have a rxt-is 09 model. The gas is around $25 used an hour roughly. I went out for 2 hours yesterday and i know i've probably used around $50 gas. Acceleration is pretty good, but my engine hasn't broken in yet. Buy the highest model u can. U maybe pay $2000 more but it is well worth it.

Congrats...post some pics when you get it. Seems the 215 RXT's are one of the few skis out there with no problems.
