    Tested new mods with disappointment

Took my 2006 RXP out for the first test today. Mods are: S3 SC, XS IC, 42s, Free Flow, 4inch Fizzle intake, Riva grate, Riva Wedge, VTS extension, Catchcan, Strainer, 15/20r 4 blade, Metal washers.

It only hit 60-65mph max. Was mostly at 6200rpms, with bursts up to 7000max. Hardly any throttle response or acceleration. felt like i was on a 600cc two stroke. Seemed like when the ski bounced from the waves it had bursts of more power (when it hit 7k rpms). Let just say stock it was a rocket compared to now.

It starts/idles fine, Runs great on hose, obviously its not under load though. First thoughts....I still have old plugs from last year that were fogged over the winter in it, Still have last years winterised gas in it. Would these two things cause that bad of a reaction. I will change it out but just looking for your input. I figured my mods were a pretty safe bet, not a loss of power.

    Thanks

Check your couplers, hose clamps, and make sure you plugged the mounting holes in the intercooler!!!

I bet you've got one hell of a boost leak.

Ill get new plugs and fresh fuel in her and report back. I dont think its a boost leak, i went crazy with silicone tape and everything to try to prevent it the best i could.

ALSO, I noticed that the coolant overflow tank got real hot. Not sure if this is normal or not? There were no warnings and the gauge said it was 67 degrees, so i dont think it was overheating.

If it's overheating... you'll know it by an annoying beeping sound As long as you don't have a major boost leak... I can almost guarantee that new plugs will fix you up!

Winterized gas screwed it all...Bottle is hot is normal, its overflow from the coolant. if its chilly out then the thermo won't open as much...Don't use Staybil unless you have a tank of gas for a weedwacker in the backwoods where you won't be for 2 years, otherwise put 1/2 tank of fresh premium gas before you put it away...She'll wake up with fresh stuff

Well that gives me a lot more piece of mind. I hope it does fix it, I was somewhat disappointed to loose 10mph off of stock with $2500 of upgrades.

    Far too much prop.

Loaded up, a 14/19 is about the best for this one.
