08 T-X Question on grate and prop

I have an 08 t-x and the only mods are ride plates holes filled, reverse bucket mod, and modded intake grate. After much research on the forum I went ahead and bought the Worx grate and got unexpected results, I lost 1 mph, is that normal? Air temp was 90, light chop, not sure water temp, ran the ski for 2 runs and both times 69.2, gps, with 8020-8040 rpms. Put the Worx on and ran 68.2 with rmps same 8020-8040, I have to admit the hole shot was better with Worx, is this normal? Second question, Down here in South Texas is gets hot, I want to put the 4" kanaflex and catch can, but I really don't want to repitch my prop at this time, as it gets hotter my rpms will drop. At what point should I go ahead an install the 4" to keep my rpms off the limiter? All advice is welcome, thanks!

How did you modify your OEM grate? if you are comparing Worx grate to modified grate, thats not right...Compare it when the OEM grate was not cut...

We installed a 4" and Riva grate, picked up 3mph but were all over the rev limter at 1/2 throttle...repitched the OEM prop and got to high 71's with a peak of 72.5 on one run with 1 bar...

Put the 4" in now, let that X SC BREATHE!

I have no experience with the Worx, but I would think it should not slow you down. I installed a Riva stg 1 minus the wedge on my TX and it runs 72-73. The 4" air will raise your rpms and maybe put you on the limiter.

On my OEM grate I did cut the wings off and really did expect a gain in speed, but I did not think I would lose any either. Like I said I am well pleased with the hole shot. As far as the the 4" kanaflex goes, I would like to put it on now, but have to repitch prop. What happens here in the next 6 weeks or so when it heats up and lose more rpms, do you repitch again? Last year in the middle of summer I was down to 7900 rpms, I really do not want to chase rpms. If I repitch now I will be low come July or August. What do you other guys do that live in hot country? Thanks

Bite the bullet and put a 15/22 in it when you add the 4" air.

Thanks Troy, I was thinking along those lines, repitch my prop now and then have a prop for the heat. What do you think?

I will probably end up doing that. Does it get into the 100's up there in August?

I tested riva, worx, r&d gen 1, and OEM moded on T-X. The OEM moded was winner on top end.

I read your thread Skoepp about your mods and that is why I went with the Worx, plus other threads. My lake is usually choppy, the day I did this test there was a slight chop. I was just surprised I lost 1 mph. If I go ahead with the 4" kanaflex now and a 15/22r will that keep me off the rev limiter?
