Awesome GPS Mount for RXP-X or RXT-X!!!
For those of you with a GPS you may find this mount very, very cool.
I have it on my 2008 RXP-X...see pics below. The mount is about $9.00 from GPSCity.com or GPSCity.ca ...best $9.00 I've ever spent.
This is the ball which the cradle & clamp clamps too...so you have to buy the other stuff for whichever GPS you have...those of you who already have RAM mounts for your GPS know this already....

I've done about 170 KMH (110 MPH or so?) on my snowmobile with a GPS installed on a RAM mount and that thing didn't even BUDGE!! I have a U-bolt with a ball like Rob has above on my ATV handlebars and that thing stays put no matter what I'm doing on the ATV (bumps, speed, dirt, mud, etc.)!
Great job Rob. I need to find a place to put my RAM mount (or part of it, since I move the rest between the ATV and snowmobile) on my RXT iS. Everything is covered on mine, unlike yours where you can see the bolts and stuff and that gives you mounting options.

Nice setup alot easier then my ram setup with 10 million screws lol. It looks clean and simple. Nice

Looks great....I had a simlar set up a while back. It will eventually vibrate loose on you so keep checking it or put some loc-tite on the threaded knob.
For the RXT and T-X there is nothing better than the Glovebox Lid.

Not a chance man. I was doing 69mph yesterday...and it wasn't moving...plus it's MUCH more likely to break loose when jumping the ski than anything...and I also tested that...didn't even move.
That mount is secured to the column with loctite and 168 in/lbs like the shop manual says. Also the whole mount is made out of strong alumuminum and the cradle is plastic...but it's not coming out.
Just like waveking, I've had it on my sled for 2 years never had a problem and it's also -20C ...much harder on plastic and ball joints than in the middle of summer.
And yeah...the glove box thing is neat. My bro has a GTX and he just bought that ...DAMN THING DIDN'T FIT!!! The lid didn't close! He had to sand it down so it would close...looks factory now as he wet-sanded and buffed it nice...
Anyhoo...trust me, it's a solid mount, anyone looking for a good way to mount on either a RXT-X or RXP-X it'll meet your needs.

Plus at 80mph you're on super smooth water, unless you're crazy...it definitely isn't coming off due to the wind resistance...

I should mention that since I took those photos I have moved it over to the other side...the right side of the column as on the left side (like it is in the photos) it blocked my RPM's at some angles...it's perfect on the other side as I don't really care about the dream-o-meter speedometer on the sea-doo. It only blocks it when you're crouching down trying to get a top speed ...hehe
