Heavy duty Coupler dampners.. reduce flex?

What do you guys think about heavy duty coupler dampners.. I guess that it will reduce the flex between the couplers and so for that reason the couplers will hold better.. isnīt that the reason?

The thing is I will custom make some billet couplers and thinking of buying this dampners.. or is it just moneywaste?
