Received used x-charger in mail from member, part fell out...

Bought a x-charger with 25 hours use on it from a member here. I unpackaged it and noticed something loose on the inside. Both openings on the SC were covered with blue tape so I know nothing got in during shipping. I spun the shaft and after one rotation it locked up. I giggled the SC around and a super small piece of black plastic along with the following came out. This piece is semi rough and brown. What is it? After it fell out the SC spins great and smooth.

I'm guessing some outside debis. Only thing that can come out of the charger would be aluminum from the impeller. Take the front off and inspect to be sure -

My best guess would be that it fell in there before the ends were taped up. There isn't anything on the inside of the front housing that's plastic. If you are really concerned, you could always just pull the front cover and have a look to make sure there is no damage to the impeller, but I would think everything is fine.

It almost looks and feels like one of those Dremel round cutting blades.

If I pull the front cover off, what are you guys using to seal the front cover to the back cover? The Right Stuff?

The Right Stuff works great, I personally sealed mine with RTV that was o2 sensor safe to to be safe.

All of my tools are at the lake house. If I giggle the SC real hard I hear something loose in there. Looks like I'll be pulling the front cover thurs.

Good thing I heard it before I mounted it up. That would have been an ugly sight.

Your probably hearing the shaft sliding front to back... and thats normal to an extent.

I wonder if the dude stripped out the top bolt... and used a dremel to cut if off when he removed it

The best way to find out and ensure that everything is okay, pulling the front cover off and do a visual inspection on the wheel and inside of the rear and front housing.

Apprently the SC was sitting in a box below his dremel tools and bits. I guess a piece fell in.

I'm going to see if my neighbor has tools I can use to remove the bolts on the cover.

Should I use something instead The Right Stuff when I put it back together?
